More progress has been made in the eco-friendly and integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, with five bus routes launched on Nov 4 connecting Shanghai's Qingpu district, Suzhou's Wujiang district and Jiaxing's Jiashan county.

The routes mainly pass by tourist destinations, shopping sites and hospitals in the three areas.

Buses are powered by new energy resources and support multiple payment methods including cash, WeChat and Alipay.

According to local authorities, the three areas will work to establish a coordinated transportation, service and law enforcement regulation mechanism and share information with each other.

The three areas are part of the demonstration zone for the eco-friendly and integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, which was unveiled on Nov 1.
