Zhu Guoxian, director of the provincial publicity department, and Chen Long, Party chief of Jinhua, addressed the meeting.

Zhu emphasized Jinhua's important role in the overall development of the province and urged local authorities to double down efforts to build Jinhua into the third city cluster and the fourth major metropolitan area in Zhejiang.

Chen promised to strengthen technological innovation, reforms and environmental protection and expressed hope that Jinhua natives will do more to contribute.

An international Jinhua academician innovation center was launched at the opening ceremony and several outstanding Jinhua natives were awarded for their efforts.

Several of the scientists and entrepreneurs at the meeting also attended a dialogue on Nov 15, the day before the summit, to discuss cooperation.

The dialogue was hosted by the Jinhua Federation of Domestic and Overseas Talents and Jinhua Merchants Association.

Zhu Shiqiang, executive president of the Jinhua Federation of Domestic and Overseas Talents, said the federation will contribute to Jinhua's development by developing more projects and platforms, while Xu Yong'an, chairman of the Jinhua Merchants Association said the association will organize frequent visits and promote the integration of industry, technology, talent and projects.

The two organizations signed a cooperation agreement and released an initiative calling on Jinhua natives from around the world to contribute to the city’s development and increase its role in integrating of the Yangtze River Delta region.
