The 2019 FAI World Drone Racing Championship was held in Xiangshan county, Ningbo, Zhejiang province on Dec 12. It attracted 112 participants from 31 countries and regions.

Drone racing has grown a lot in popularity in recent years, and the World Drone Racing Championship is the most authoritative drone competition recognized by the Fédération Aéronautique Internationale, or World Air Sports Federation. In addition to competitions, the event also features exhibitions, entertainment, and demonstrations of cutting-edge technology. A drone exhibition was held this year.

The setting for the competition features elements of the local marine culture, as well as the county's cross-sea bridge.

Xiangshan will use the event to develop its drone manufacturing industry and build a national aviation industrial center that integrates drone manufacturing, air sports museums, and education, said local authorities.
