Shaoxing, in Zhejiang province, held a forum in Shanghai on Dec 15 to seek cooperation in attracting skilled workers and developing technologies. It attracted more than 500 scholars and investors from home and abroad, as well as company representatives from Shanghai and Shaoxing.

The forum was a part of the Shanghai Shaoxing Week which opened in Shanghai on Dec 13.

Shaoxing authorities briefed attendees on some of its major innovation and entrepreneurship platforms, as well as its favorable policies and sound business climate.

The human resources and social security bureau of Shaoxing established a partnership with the Overseas Students Pioneer Park in Beijing. Several projects in public services and technology R&D were signed and will land in Shaoxing.

In addition, Shaoxing was selected as a member of the Talent Alliance of the Yangtze River Delta and the Technology Market Alliance of the Yangtze River Delta. Its integrated circuit town was selected as a partner of the Yangtze River Delta G60 Integrated Circuit Industries Alliance.

"By holding the forum, we aim to attract Shanghai's skilled workers and startups to Shaoxing to help with our development," said Xu Xiaoguang, director of the Organizational Department of the CPC Shaoxing Municipal Committee, adding that Shaoxing boasts profound culture and history, solid industrial foundations, open policies, broad development platforms, sound services and promising development prospects, which he thinks are good reasons why people should choose to work in Shaoxing.
