A series of academic works introducing Zhejiang's reform and opening-up experiences was published in both Chinese and English by Zhejiang University Press on Dec 23.

The book series contains outstanding Chinese academic works focusing on various aspects of reform and opening up, such as social governance, regional economy, and local culture, with English translation of these works also available. The project was undertaken by Zhejiang University Press and started in 2017.

"The books can promote mutual respect and understanding between different civilizations, and provide diverse approaches for people to pursue a better life," said Shao Qing, a senior inspector from the Zhejiang Federation of Humanities and Social Sciences Circles.

Shao expressed hope that the younger generation of scholars will learn from past generations, show deep concern for current society, as well as help drive social development with their academic studies.

Luo Weidong, vice-president of Zhejiang University, noted that the books have distinctive local features and enriches domestic studies in regional economic and social development.

Luo said that he hopes the bilingual books will help promote Zhejiang's experiences around China and the world.
