In Fuyang district of Hangzhou, a team of more than 150 outdoor enthusiasts with an average age of 43.7 is a famous rescue force in Zhejiang.

The Wolves Rescue Team, which registered in 2015, took part in 25 emergencies in Zhejiang in 2019, including the resistance against the super typhoon Lekima, said Chen Jianming, founder and leader of the team.

Chen said, "The original aspiration of building such a team was just to do something good to the society, but after years of development, we feel a sense of calling and mission."

Chen's focus is always on the acquisition of professional rescue knowledge and skills. "In our team, we have over 20 lecturers who have good knowledge of one or two fields such as climbing and psychological counseling to train our members and we seize training and practice opportunities to enable ourselves to do rescue work in many occasions."

The professional performance helped the reputation of Wolves Rescue Team grow. It became part of the Red Society organizations in 2017 and established a close connection with the public security authority, said Xu Quankun, executive leader of the team, which made the team an important backup for the government's rescue work.

Today, there are 110 rescues teams like the Wolves and 7,682 rescuers administrated by Red Cross organizations in Zhejiang.
