Many cities in Zhejiang province recently launched a series of measures to attract talent and boost the local economy amid the epidemic.

Hangzhou announced on Feb 24 that it would offer 10,000 yuan ($1,430), 30,000 yuan, and 50,000 yuan in subsidies for fresh graduates with a bachelor's degree, master's degree, and doctoral degree, respectively, who plan to work in the city. It will also offer them 10,000 yuan in rental subsidies per year, for a maximum of six years.

That same day, Ningbo held an online job fair offering more than 2,000 high-salary jobs.

Meanwhile, Wenzhou launched a program encouraging over 1,000 major employers to offer over 10,000 jobs both online and offline, and Jiaxing has carried out more than 200 online recruitment programs over the past two months, attracting over 30 workers with at least a doctoral degree.

In addition to attracting talent, local authorities are also making efforts to retain talent.

In Taizhou, 20 banks have helped address the financing needs of local startups by reducing loan interest rates and raising their line of credit, and in Huzhou, governments at all levels have dispatched cadres to assist companies and offer individualized support.

Meanwhile, Quzhou has launched a dedicated online platform for handling administrative procedures related to talent selection, review, and awards in an effort to streamline such processes.
