Huaniao Island in Shengsi county in Zhoushan, East China's Zhejiang province has been listed among China's top 10 mountain and seaside destinations, Chinese National Geography announced on March 30.
The island is renowned for its stunning sea views and a lighthouse that was built in the 19th century.
The lighthouse, which measures 16.5 meters in height, is dubbed the "No 1 lighthouse in the Far East" because of its geographical location, scale, functions and long history.
The island's Wuzhishi (five-finger stone) scenic spot, which is located near a temple, is one of the best places to admire the sunset.
The bioluminescent bay within the island is also a popular attraction among tourists from all over the country from May to August.
To reach Huaniao Island, visitors can take a 1.5-hour boat ride from the county's Sijiao Island. Boat services begin at 7:30 am.
