Guangchen town, Youchegang town, Zhouwangmiao town and Xincheng town in Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, were recently named among the first batch of national strong agricultural towns by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Ministry of Finance.

In 2022, the total output value of the rice industrial chain in Guangchen town, Pinghu, a county-level city of Jiaxing, exceeded 970 million yuan ($133 million).

Rice produced in the town generated 86.55 million yuan in income. The output value of rice processing enterprises reached 450 million yuan, while the output values of leisure agriculture and the seed industry reached new highs, amounting to 81.5 million yuan and 350 million yuan, respectively.

Youchegang town in Xiuzhou district also focuses on the rice industry, with the output value of the whole industrial chain reaching 1.31 billion yuan in 2022.

Silkworm breeding and mulberry growing are well developed in Zhouwangmiao town, Haining, a county-level city in Jiaxing. Through the development and production of silkworm cocoons, mulberry garden interplanting, silk processing, and mulberry feed research and development, the town has become a high-level rural vitalization demonstration site and strong sericulture town.

Xincheng town in Xiuzhou district also has a stroong rice industry. The output value of the entire industrial chain in the town exceeded 20 billion yuan.

In 2022, the town's rice output was valued at 81.03 million yuan. Rice processing enterprises in the town achieved an output value of 1.86 billion yuan, while the output values of leisure agriculture and the seed industry reached 34.69 million yuan and 200 million yuan, respectively.
