From July 1 to Aug 31, 9 million tourists visited Jiaxing, an increase of 61.8 percent compared to 2019, and spent more than 1.4 billion yuan ($191.54 million), a surge of 73.8 percent compared to 2019.

During this summer vacation, many scenic spots in Jiaxing attracted tourists. For example, Wuzhen Scenic Area held a large number of art exhibitions, and Xitang Ancient Town launched a series of night fairs featuring hanfu.

The heat of the summer tourism market was also reflected in group tours. A travel agency in the downtown area revealed that it led nearly 300 more groups this summer holiday than last year.

From Aug 1 to Dec 31, to welcome the Asian Games, Xitang Ancient Town is offering free admission for weekend night tours for tourists, making it a popular tourism destination.

Data shows that during summer vacation, tourists who came to the city were mainly born in the 1980s and 90s. People born in the 90s accounted for 30.43 percent of all tourists.

In addition, data shows that among the top 20 most popular scenic spots in the city during summer vacation, Wuzhen took the top spot with a tourist share of 47 percent.
