East China's Zhejiang province aims to create over 500 model modern and beautiful towns by the end of 2027, a set of newly released guidelines from the provincial authorities revealed.

According to the guidelines, Zhejiang province will accelerate the improvement of infrastructure, public services, economic industries, cultural environments, and comprehensive governance in small towns throughout the province.

This will be achieved through the implementation of five modernization initiatives and 18 key projects.

The province plans to create more than 100 model modern and beautiful towns each year.

By the end of 2025, Zhejiang will establish over 300 model modern and beautiful towns as well as 15 modern and beautiful counties.
