Zhejiang's charging piles exceed 1 million

As of the end of August, Zhejiang had set up 119,500 public charging piles and 929,200 private charging piles, totaling over a million. 

From Jan to Aug this year, the total electricity consumed at these charging piles reached 3.407 billion kilowatt-hours, a 70 percent increase over the previous year.

By the end of Aug 2023, private charging piles in towns and areas below the township level in Zhejiang had been installed in 269,100 households, covering 792 towns, with a coverage rate of 90.4 percent.

Since 2015, Zhejiang has put 1,835 public charging stations and 11,700 public charging piles into operation in rural areas.

According to a recently released action plan, by the end of 2025, Zhejiang aims to build more than 2.3 million charging piles, with no fewer than 900,000 in rural areas. 

Among these, 120,000 public charging piles, at least 20,000 of which are for rural areas, will be installed to meet the needs of over four million new energy vehicles.
