Wenzhou, as one of the co-host cities of the Hangzhou Asian Games, has been incorporating the principles of "green, intelligent, thrifty, and civilized" into every aspect of its involvement in the Games.

The city has committed itself to a green approach by utilizing clean electricity, a form of energy generating zero or near-zero carbon emissions in production, in facilities like the media center during the Games.

Wenzhou also advocates eco-friendly practices such as green accommodation, cutting the use of paper in sporting events, and encouraging venue reuse after the Games. For instance, the construction of the Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center has prioritized the use of recyclable materials, energy-efficient lighting, and renewable energy sources.

To make the event intelligent, Wenzhou has introduced cutting-edge technologies to enhance the overall experience. The Wenzhou Olympic Sports Center is equipped with a smart lighting system capable of providing optimal brightness for players while staging dazzling light displays. The Wenzhou Dragon Boat Sports Center takes innovation further with light-electric glass on its observation deck, which serves as an energy-saving, high-definition LED display screen. Meanwhile, the Wenzhou Sports Center has installed sensors beneath the turf, facilitating efficient grass maintenance.

Wenzhou has proved that cost-efficiency does not necessarily require compromise. The Wenzhou Olympic Center stands as a shining example of architectural innovation with its suspended canopy structure, which reduced the use of construction materials, broadening the viewing space while also being earthquake-proof. The Wenzhou Dragon Boat Center leverages natural lighting to conserve energy and provide remarkable views.

At the Wenzhou Sports Center, existing facilities like seats have been refurbished instead of replaced. Equipment such as computers were also borrowed from the city's storage, saving 1,160,000 yuan (approximately $158,980).

Additionally, Wenzhou's Asian Games venues were designed with post-event utilization and multifunctional use in mind, benefiting community fitness and fostering sports-related economic growth.

The city has made notable improvements to its transportation network, featuring signage in different languages, Asian Games exclusive lanes, and a 3D display at the city's gateway.

The city has also cultivated a civilized atmosphere with volunteer services and stations as well as foreign language display correction initiatives.

These combined efforts promise not only a celebration of sports, but also a commitment to a sustainable and clean future.
