Zhejiang province held a significant project signing ceremony at the Hongqiao International Economic Forum during the sixth China International Import Expo (CIIE) on Nov 5.

Agreements for a total of 24 projects were signed on-site, with a total contract value of $3.84 billion. Among them, 20 were foreign investment-related, with a total investment of $3.47 billion.

The on-site foreign investment projects primarily hail from seven countries and regions, including the United States, France, and Canada. Three Belt and Road Initiative partner countries, namely South Korea, Singapore, and India, were also among the signatories, alongside seven investments from Fortune 500 and industry-leading companies.

These projects are mostly focused on new energy, new materials, and new technology, with six high-end manufacturing projects accounting for 33.34 percent of all confirmed projects.

Despite the sluggish international economic recovery, Zhejiang's investment environment has been favored by foreign investors. Its investment policies have earned praise, leading to an increasing willingness among foreign investors to invest in Zhejiang and exponential growth in investment projects.

According to reports, over 15,000 purchasing enterprises and more than 42,000 professionals participated in the expo this year, surpassing previous editions. The scope of procurement covered six major areas, including service trade, automobiles, technical equipment, consumer goods, medical equipment, pharmaceuticals, and food and agricultural products.

This year witnessed the inaugural "Yiwu Thousand Purchasing Merchants at the CIIE" event organized by the city of Yiwu. More than 2,200 enterprises and 4,000 buyers registered for the event, with over 1,600 companies in the consumer goods sector, including food and agricultural products, making the event unprecedented in scope.
