Li Shutong: Celebrating a cultural icon on global stage

The documentary Li Shutong is making waves globally, with its promotional video being showcased at major international landmarks.

From Times Square in New York to the Onoden Main Building in Akihabara, Tokyo and various stations in Bangkok, the legendary life of the master is being introduced to audiences worldwide.

Co-produced by the publicity department of the Pinghu Party committee and Zhejiang Radio & Television Group, the promotional video aims to share the extraordinary story of master Hongyi with viewers around the world.

Born Li Shutong, master Hongyi achieved a great deal in the fields of music, painting, calligraphy and theater. Pinghu, Li's ancestral home, has been making efforts to preserve Shutong culture in recent years.

In 1906, at the age of 26, Li enrolled in Japan's top art school in Tokyo, where he created a legendary story during his studies. On July 8, the promotional video was also shown on the outdoor screens of the Onoden Main Building in Akihabara, attracting a large number of passersby.

Since July 5, the promotional video has been playing 60 times daily across four screens at three major stations in Bangkok's bustling Siam commercial district — Siam, Asoke, and the National Stadium Station.

The documentary Li Shutong will also be broadcast in Singapore, Japan, and other countries and regions.

The three-part documentary, each episode lasting 55 minutes, thoroughly explores Li's personal development, artistic achievements, and spiritual world.
