Recently, 131 passengers boarded flight FM883 from Wenzhou to Bangkok, arriving after a four-hour and 45-minute journey to start their summer adventures.

July 8 marked the first anniversary of the Wenzhou-Bangkok flight. Over the past year, the flight has made 298 trips, transporting over 37,000 people.

Since the China-Thailand visa exemption policy took effect on March 1, the number of travelers has surged by more than 20 percent, with each flight now averaging three tour groups, according to Zheng Xu, official at the Wenzhou Customs Airport Office.

Ms Jin, a passenger returning from Bangkok, shared her experience, "My daughter does business in Bangkok, so I took this trip with my friends to visit her and enjoy the beautiful scenery and delicious food. The direct flight saves time and reduces travel costs."

In recent years, the number of passenger on routes like Wenzhou-Rome and Wenzhou-Milan has steadily increased. The Wenzhou-Phuket charter flight route was also launched on July 2. To manage the peak summer travel season, Wenzhou Customs has been working closely with port inspection units, Wenzhou airport, and airlines to monitor new flights and enhance infectious disease surveillance, ensuring seamless customs clearance while maintaining national security.

Wenzhou Longwan International Airport is currently undergoing its third phase of expansion. Once completed, the airport's capacity and aviation capabilities will see a significant boost.
