Recently, over 200 participants from the 2024 Shanghai International Sister Cities Youth Camp gathered in Wucun village, Wuzhen town, Jiaxing, Zhejiang province, marking their first stop outside Shanghai.

Hailing from 18 countries including France, Australia, New Zealand, and Italy, these young campers were treated to an immersive experience showcasing the rich cultural heritage and vibrant activities of this traditional Jiangnan village.

"Wucun retains its original rural charm while integrating modern technology, meeting various lifestyle and leisure needs. We hope this activity enhances students' understanding of different cultures," explained Cai Shuqin, director of the international exchange and education development department at Oriental Land.

Wucun is a resort that preserves the look of Jiangnan villages from the 1960s and 70s, promoting concepts of recycling, sustainability, low carbon, and harmonious coexistence between humans and nature.

From accommodation to dining, and from activities to leisure, Wucun allows visitors to enjoy a pure pastoral life in a care-free setting.

Campers strolled along the village's roads, captivated by the historic Jiangnan houses. Their dinner, provided by Wucun, incorporated green, low-carbon, and sustainable dining concepts, ensuring an organic and meaningful experience.

After dinner, the campers visited the Xizha Scenic Area, exploring the Wuzhen Ancient Town Summer Night Festival's diverse themed activities.
