The 33rd Summer Olympics will soon open in Paris, and products made in Jiaxing will once again be in the spotlight. The Chinese sports delegation's long-sleeve T-shirts with Chinese dragon patterns and blue uniforms for swimming events were all made from fabrics produced by Zhejiang Texwell Textile Co Ltd in Haining.

The fabric for the blue uniforms, designed for the Chinese swimming team, can quickly absorb water droplets, which then disappear rapidly, leaving the surface dry. This innovative material was developed by a 15-member R&D team over the course of nearly three months.

Initially, the team faced challenges in meeting the required performance standards using conventional methods. They had to reverse-engineer the fabric, analyzing and deconstructing it to achieve the desired results. The final product combines two different functional fabrics into one, meeting both quick-drying and thermal insulation requirements.

Another notable fabric developed by Texwell is a light blue material used for the Chinese delegation's long-sleeve T-shirts. Impressively, 76 percent of this fabric's polyester fibers are derived from recycled plastic bottles and other waste materials, making it more environmentally-friendly compared to traditional petroleum-based yarns.

This is not the first time Texwell has provided fabrics for Chinese Olympians. They also supplied materials for the Beijing Summer and Winter Olympics. Additionally, some uniforms for French athletes and Paris Olympic volunteers are made from Texwell's fabrics.
