Stephen Demarsh, who hails from Canada and is known by his Chinese name Yu Mi, has been living in China for 14 years. He's been an influencer, a graphic designer and a father in the past few  years. Now, he has a new identity — a villager in the countryside of Tongyuan, Haiyan county, Jiaxing. He said it was the life he enjoyed.

"It's quiet, clean and away from stress, allowing me to spend more time with friends and family," Demarsh said. He often takes his camera and makes short videos to share his love for life in the Chinese countryside. He hopes that through these videos, more people will appreciate the beauty of Chinese villages.

"I just want you guys to really see and try to understand how beautiful this place actually is, and enjoy this part of the countryside," he said.
