An immersive cultural experience took place in the Quzhou's historic Beimen road on Aug 10 — the date of this year's Qixi Festival, also known as Chinese Valentine's Day.

The event kicked off with actors performing key scenes from the musical Southern Confucianism, setting the tone for the evening.

Interactive experiences were the highlight of the night, with many attendees dressed in traditional costumes.

Legend has it that the Jade Emperor's youngest daughter, the Weaver Girl, grew weary of immortal life and descended to the mortal world, where she fell in love with a cowherd. The Jade Emperor, disapproving of their union, separated them by the Milky Way, allowing them to meet only once a year on the seventh day of the seventh lunar month.
