The highly anticipated release of China's flagship game, "Black Myth: Wukong", has triggered a buying frenzy among gamers in Ningbo, Zhejiang province, driving up sales and demand for high-performance PCs, laptops, graphics cards, and gaming consoles, according to Ningbo Daily.

Within days of the game's launch, retailers across Ningbo’s digital and appliance markets reported a noticeable increase in foot traffic and sales. At the bustling EGO Digital Square, shopkeepers were kept busy assembling custom gaming PCs tailored to the demands of "Black Myth: Wukong."

"Customers are lining up for GPUs (graphics processing units) ranging from RTX 4060s to top-of-the-line RTX 4090s," said a shop owner surnamed Wang, adding that the game's stunning graphics have prompted many to upgrade their existing setups.

Gaming laptops, particularly those equipped with powerful RTX 4060 graphics cards, have also become hot commodities. Lenovo stores have seen a spike in sales from both students preparing for the new academic year and avid gamers eager to experience "Black Myth: Wukong" on the go.

JD Mall, a major electronics retailer, has capitalized on the game's popularity by setting up a dedicated "Black Myth: Wukong" experience zone. The area is filled with lighting effects and themed displays, creating an immersive gaming atmosphere that has attracted hordes of players. As a result, sales of DIY PCs, gaming laptops, and even PS5 consoles and controllers have soared.

"The game's release has been a boon for our business," said Lin Tianxiang, the DIY computer sales team leader at JD MALL, "A significant portion of our recent sales can be attributed to customers looking to play 'Black Myth: Wukong'. Some branded hardware and accessories tied to the game are flying off the shelves.”
