Yearly projects elevate residents' wellbeing

Zhejiang province has successfully delivered on its 2024 initiatives to enhance residents' quality of life, completing 34,262 projects across 10 priority areas, according to Tide News on Jan 13.
These initiatives addressed healthcare, education, elderly care, child welfare, employment, transportation, living environment, culture, sports, and public safety. Here are some of the achievements:
About 1,200 schools introduced "model cafeterias", benefiting 1.8 million students and cutting food safety incidents by 40 percent.
Over 76,000 girls aged 13 to 14 received full HPV vaccination coverage.
Employment initiatives aided nearly 12,000 individuals and their families, raising the employment rate for working-age people with disabilities to 70.76 percent.
Zhejiang built or upgraded 1,195 kilometers of rural roads, benefiting 17 million residents.
The province added 55,000 new public EV charging stations, including 20,000 in rural areas.
Asian Games venues opened nearly year-round, hosting 810 sporting events and attracting 13.3 million visitors to work out.
