The average per capita disposable income in Zhejiang reached 67,013 yuan ($9,173) in 2024, with a per capita consumer spending of 45,107 yuan, according to the Zhejiang Provincial Bureau of Statistics on Feb 6.

Urban residents reported a per capita disposable income of 78,251 yuan and consumer spending of 50,704 yuan, while rural residents reported an average income of 42,786 yuan and spending of 33,043 yuan.

On Feb 5, the Communist Party of China Zhejiang Provincial Committee held its first meeting after the Chinese New Year holiday, focusing on making the province a demonstration zone for common prosperity.

A key element of the agenda is a county-centered development framework that links counties, towns, and villages to promote rural vitalization.

The province aims to integrate urban and rural planning, streamline infrastructure, and align industrial development to facilitate the flow of resources. This will help expand employment opportunities, particularly for middle-income households.
