Zhejiang's winter sports equipment exports up 13.4 percent in 2024

Zhejiang exported 610 million yuan ($83.46 million) worth of winter sports equipment in 2024, a 13.4-percent increase from the previous year, according to statistics from Hangzhou Customs.

Exports of snow apparel, including ski suits, boots, and protective gear, reached 490 million yuan, up 13.8 percent. Specialized equipment such as snowboards, sleds, and ice skates totaled 95.59 million yuan, a 6.3-percent rise. Venue equipment like snowmakers saw a 127.1-percent surge to 15.18 million yuan.

"The European ski season starts in October, so production and shipping must happen early to meet market demand," said Chen Mingchun, a representative of Zhejiang Vista Sports Goods Co.

The company, known for ski goggles and sports helmets primarily sold in Europe and North America, reported 50 million yuan in ski goggle exports for 2024, up 10 percent from the previous year.
