Quzhou optimizes port logistics for foreign trade

The Qujiang port area of Quzhou Port, an inland port in Quzhou, Zhejiang province, has become a point of departure and destination for international logistics, as the "Quzhou-Jiaxing Zhapu Port-Ningbo Zhoushan Port" CCA route commenced operations on Dec 13.

The CCA refers to the Connected Carrier Agreement. The CCA multimodal transport model, integrating inland and maritime transport resources, allows businesses to export and import goods using a single CCA "package", with goods undergoing one security check, single document processing, and single customs clearance.

On Dec 13, Zhejiang Juhua Group's export of calcium chloride products swiftly completed customs declaration and inspection at the Qujiang port area's customs supervision site, before 10 containers were shipped from the Qujiang port area via inland waterways to Ningbo Port, eventually reaching Singapore.

Previously, Quzhou businesses had to travel to coastal ports for customs clearance, consuming time. With the CCA model, the Qujiang port area now serves as the local starting point for shipping documents, allowing all customs processes to be completed locally. Businesses only need to purchase a CCA "package" for swift export.

Zheng Yunfei, deputy general manager of Quzhou Smart Port Development Company, said that the optimized logistics reduce container costs by 20 percent to 30 percent.

As West Zhejiang's first high-standard customs supervision site, the Qujiang port area's customs supervision site is integrated into the network of major ports like Ningbo Zhoushan and Shanghai, providing local businesses with optimized logistics for global market access.
