China-Africa forum to open in Yiwu on Nov 7
The 2026 Forum on China-Africa Economic, Trade and Cultural Cooperation will be held on Nov 7 in Yiwu, Jinhua, Zhejiang province. The event will feature one main forum, seven parallel meetings, and five supporting activities, with more than 400 guests from over 30 countries and regions expected.
This year marks the 70th anniversary of China-Africa diplomatic relations and the China-Africa Year of People-to-People Exchanges. The forum, a high-level event under the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation framework, has been held annually since 2024 and facilitated more than 60 China-Africa cooperation project signings worth over 80 billion yuan ($12.02 billion).
This year's forum will be held in Yiwu for the first time, using the city's role as the world's largest small commodity hub and China-Africa trade gateway to build a four-in-one platform of meetings, exhibitions, negotiations, and markets.
Cultural content will be more extensive, including the 15th Meeting of the China-Africa Think Tanks Forum, a Global South modernization declaration, and a Cultural Silk Road Exchange Month featuring film, television, cultural, and tourism events.
Public participation will broaden through a Qiaochuifang Workshop woodcarving exhibition, an intangible cultural heritage market, and a China-Africa trade goods exhibition.
