7 Fujian athletes to compete in Paralympics
China will send a contingent of 251 athletes to compete in the Tokyo Paralympic Games, which is set to open on Aug 24.
Seven athletes from the delegation are from Fujian province. They will compete in track and field, table tennis, and blind soccer.
Female track and field athlete Yang Liwan, who won three gold medals at the previous Paralympics, is the only female athlete from Fujian. This is her fourth Paralympics outing.
Zhu Dening, Chen Hongjie and Zhong Huanghao will take part in track and field events including long-jump, high-jump and the 100-meter race.
Ye Chaoqun and Chen Chao will participate in table tennis and Yu Yutan will compete in blind soccer game as a forward.
