Chinese warehouse robotics pioneer Hai Robotics is stepping up its push to expand cooperation in the smart logistics sector after raising $200 million to accelerate development.

Hai Robotics, a global leader in autonomous case-handling robotics systems for warehouse fulfillment, has inked deals with Qiaodan Sports Co and China Mobile's Quanzhou branch for a 5G smart logistics project in Jinjiang, Fujian province.

Under the agreements, the three parties will establish a long-term strategic partnership to jointly build 5G-enabled intelligent manufacturing and intelligent logistics systems over the next five years.

The agreement came after Hai Robotics announced it had raised $200 million. The funding came from two separate equity rounds, Series C and Series D, which were disclosed simultaneously in September. Investors included 5Y Capital, Sequoia Capital China, Source Code Capital and Walden International.

Founded in 2016 in Shenzhen, Hai Robotics said the investment will be used to grow its technological strength, accelerate global expansion and beef up supply chain management.

Hai Robotics now has overseas subsidiaries in Hong Kong, Japan, Singapore, the United States and the Netherlands, with international customers in more than 30 countries and regions.
