"It is really good news for the whole bodiless lacquer industry," said Zhu Bing, an intangible cultural inheritor of the art. "We are hoping to see a new spring of the art with technical innovations and support from the whole society."

"The implementation of various measures aims to help more people appreciate the artistic value of Fuzhou bodiless lacquer," said Wu Youhan, director of the intangible cultural heritage department in the city's culture and tourism bureau. "We also hope to see more practitioners willing to continue to engage in the industry, passing on the glory of the art, generation after generation."
