Editor's note: Fujian deputies and members attending the fifth session of the 13th National People's Congress and the fifth session of the National People's Political Consultative Conference presented their motions and suggestions from March 4.

Wu Zhiming, a member of the CPPCC National Committee, proposed to boost the construction of a cross-Straits common market by building Pingtan, the closest place on the Chinese mainland to Taiwan, into a cross-Straits logistics distribution center.

Zhang Guangmin, a deputy to the National People's Congress and an instructor at the Fuzhou School for the Blind, proposed that banks improve their management and services to guarantee equal access for the visually impaired.

Governments and tea enterprises should jointly strengthen advertising of Chinese tea products and hold more tea culture exchange activities to promote tea culture to the whole world, proposed Chen Shihai, president of the Fujian Provincial Overseas Chinese Federation, at the 13th CPPCC National Committee.

Zhang Zexi, vice-president of the Taiwan Democratic Self-Government League Central Committee, proposed to accelerate the construction of Cross-Straits demonstration zones to deepen industrial cooperation with Fujian province and other areas to accumulate experience in building a shared market for both sides of the Straits. This should help Taiwan-funded enterprises easily enter the industrial supply chain on the Chinese mainland. It should also help Taiwan youth come to the mainland for business and employment and better adjust to the environment of the mainland.
