Diamond League has announced that 14 events will be held during the opening game at the Xiamen Egret Stadium in the coastal city of Xiamen in Fujian province on April 20 next year.

Among the 14 events, the men's 3000/5000m, high jump, pole vault and women's 100m hurdles, 200m, 3000m steeplechase, and shot put will be included for the first time at the 2024 Diamond League Xiamen Meeting.

The IAAF Diamond League is one of the highest-level and most influential track and field series in the world.

Xiamen hosted its first-ever Diamond League event this year, serving as the sole Diamond League event to be held in China in 2023. With the participation of 151 track and field athletes from nearly 40 countries, the Xiamen competition showcased a spectacular track and field event which saw four new world records being set.
