On April 28, Fujian province hosted the third press conference in a series dedicated to implementing the Working Guidance of the CPC Central Committee and the State Council to Support Fujian in Exploring New Pathways for Promoting Integrated Development between the Two Sides of the Straits and Build a Demonstration Zone for Integrated Cross-Straits Development, Fujian unveiled 13 new measures designed to benefit Taiwan compatriots.

In order to facilitate exchanges and improve work-life balance for Taiwan residents in Fujian, the province will establish a Taiwan compatriots' zone on the Minzhengtong app, offering 28 initial government services. Additionally, a Fujian-Matsu city Card will be launched for Matsu residents, providing discounts on public transportation and designated hotel accommodations in Fuzhou, along with facilitating rental exemptions and children's school enrollment. Moreover, individuals from Taiwan working in the Pingtan Comprehensive Experimental Area will receive tax subsidies.

To support the growth of Taiwan-funded enterprises, Fujian will establish a cross-Strait industrial investment fund with a focus on technology and consumer industries. Favorable policies for cross-border trade with Taiwan will be implemented in Fuzhou, Xiamen, and Quanzhou. Furthermore, increased financial support will be extended to Taiwan-funded agricultural enterprises, while collaboration between Fujian and Taiwan in standardization and mutual recognition will be actively promoted.

In a bid to encourage Taiwan employment, entrepreneurship, and training internships in Fujian, the province plans to provide 1,000 training opportunities for Taiwan youth in 2024, and will offer livestreaming marketing assistance to 100 Taiwan companies. Additionally, convenient pathways will be established for Taiwan residents in Fujian to undergo various types of crew training and apply for mainland seafarer certificates.

Moving forward, Fujian will continue to prioritize the well-being of Taiwan compatriots by sharing in development opportunities and accomplishments proactively. This strategic approach aims to ensure that Taiwan compatriots derive greater benefits from the construction of the cross-Strait integrated development demonstration zone.
