On June 6 at 1:00 pm, the "Tianwei Technology Agriculture Satellite" was successfully launched from the Jiuquan Satellite Launch Center in China, carried by the CERES-1 Y13 rocket.

The Tianwei Technology Agriculture Satellite, a collaborative project between Xiamen Tianwei Technology and Beijing Mumei Xingkong Technology, is a lightweight, small ultra-high-resolution optical remote sensing satellite. Weighing approximately 110 kilograms, the satellite boasts an impressive imaging resolution of 0.5 meters, an imaging swath spanning 14.8 kilometers, and an orbit altitude of 535 kilometers.

Equipped with a wide coverage area, short revisiting period, and quantitative detection capabilities, the satellite caters to a variety of needs in agriculture and rural areas, including spatial and spectral resolution requirements, as well as multi-source remote sensing data. Its deployment is expected to significantly enhance the modernization and informatization of agricultural and rural management.

You Qin, chairman of Xiamen Tianwei Technology, emphasized that the successful launch of the satellite will establish a cohesive network with the previously launched Xiamen · Tianwei Technology-1 Pilot Satellite and Xiamen Tech No 1 Satellite, alongside the imminent launch of the Huaxiangyuan No 1 Satellite in mid-June.

This network will offer functional complementarity and find applications in smart agriculture, smart oceans, emergency management, natural resources, meteorology, environmental protection, transportation, and other urban service areas, thereby stimulating industrial advancement and fostering high-quality economic development.
