Highlights of Fujian provincial government work report 2025

On the morning of Jan 13, the third session of the 14th Fujian Provincial People's Congress opened in Fuzhou, capital of East China's Fujian province, when the Fujian government work report was presented.

The notable achievements in economic and social development of Fujian in 2024 were highlighted:

●The gross regional product or (GRP) is expected to meet the annual target;

●Revenue in the general public budget was 595.56 billion yuan ($81.24 billion), up 0.8 percent over that of 2023;

●Revenue in the local general public budget totaled 361.46 billion yuan, an increase of 0.6 percent;

●Fixed asset investment was estimated to increase by 3.9 percent;

●Total retail sales of consumer goods was estimated to grow by 4.5 percent;

●Exports were expected to grow by 5.3 percent;

●The per capita disposable income of urban residents was expected to increase by 4.5 percent and that of rural residents, by 6.7 percent;

●The surveyed urban unemployment rate was expected to be around 4.7 percent; 

●Consumer prices fell by 0.1 percent.

 

Looking ahead to 2025, key economic and social development targets included:

●The GRP is projected to rise by 5-5.5 percent over the previous year, aiming for better results based on actual conditions;

●Fixed asset investment is predicted to increase by 5 percent;

●Total retail sales of consumer goods are expected to grow by 5.5 percent;

●Exports are projected to grow by 3 percent;

●The surveyed urban unemployment rate will remain at 5 percent;

●Consumer prices will rise by 2 percent;

●Synchronized growth will be achieved between residents' incomes and economic development;

●Grain production will hit over 5.11 million metric tons;

●Fujian will maintain a decrease in energy consumption per unit of GRP.
