Sanming University launches Lei Feng intl volunteer team to promote his legacy

A flag-raising ceremony was held at the Central Primary School in Chenda town, Sanming city, East China's Fujian province on March 5, marking the official inauguration of the Lei Feng volunteer team.
Lei Feng, a People's Liberation Army soldier known for his good deeds, is a household name and cultural icon in China symbolizing selflessness, modesty and dedication.
The international volunteer team is a non-profit organization voluntarily founded by Chinese and international teachers and students to promote the legacy of Lei Feng, spreading Chinese culture, and fostering international exchanges to build a better future for all.
The team strives to embody the spirit of Lei Feng by actively participating in public welfare activities, and contributing to the growth of international volunteer services.
Dr. Mohammad Saiyedul Islam, the team's leader and a foreign teacher from Bangladesh, stated, "This is not only an honor but also a great responsibility. We will engage with the world, exemplify the spirit of Lei Feng through meaningful actions, actively participate in international volunteer service activities, and contribute our efforts toward creating a better future for all."
"In the future, under the guidance of the Lei Feng spirit, the team will actively participate in various volunteer service initiatives, spread warmth through kindness, demonstrate responsibility through actions, and contribute youthful energy to building a global community with a shared future by promoting cross-cultural exchanges and cooperation," he added.
The team currently consists of 36 Chinese and international teachers and students from 10 countries, including Bangladesh, Mali, Nigeria, Russia, Indonesia, Uzbekistan, Mongolia, and Kyrgyzstan.
