The 2025 Minnan Theater Week commenced on the evening of Nov 27 in Zhangzhou, Fujian province. The event aims to integrate the unique cultures of the southern Fujian language speaking regions — Xiamen, Zhangzhou, and Quanzhou — through drama, quyi (folk art forms), puppet shows, and more. Through a week-long program of theatrical performances, academic exchanges, and various other activities, the event seeks to preserve, pass down, and promote Hokkien culture.

Activities include outstanding classic performances, the Shao Jianghai Centennial Artistry and Minnan Opera Inheritance and Development Exchange, Minnan dialect stand-up comedy, and more.
