The Fourth Houguan Forum opened in Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province, on Dec 3, centered on the theme "Inheriting and Promoting Houguan Culture to Foster the Integrated Development of Education, Technology, and Talent".

Houguan culture is a unique regional culture in Fujian, with rich connotations of combining theory with its application, exploring and innovating, and embracing diversity.

Zhang Dingfeng, Fuzhou's executive vice-mayor, expressed hope that the forum will help with the implementation of innovative ideas and research in Fuzhou, revitalizing the ancient Houguan culture with fresh perspectives and initiatives.

The event showcased significant "education, technology, and talent" achievements for 2024-2025 from universities in Fuzhou's University Town, Fujian Normal University's efforts to attain "Double First-Class" status, and key developments in Fuzhou High-Tech Zone.

Experts, scholars, and student representatives explored the rich heritage, spiritual essence, and modern significance of Houguan culture.

The forum also features three sub-forums and cultural activities, including visits by academician expert teams to enterprises in Fuzhou High-Tech Zone, special lectures by academicians, and a "Exploring Houguan Culture" themed study tour. The forum received 240 papers, with outstanding ones compiled into a collection.
