Anji county in Huzhou was a hit tourism destination for tourists from the Yangtze River Delta, a region encompassing the provinces of Jiangsu, Zhejiang, and Anhui, as well as Shanghai municipality, over the three-day Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, which wrapped up on Sept 21.

Zhongnan Baicao Garden and Anji Bamboo Expo Park, two scenic sites in the county, welcomed more than 16,000 and 7,000 visitors respectively during the holiday, both higher than the same period last year.

Zhongnan Baicao Garden also offered smart scooters that were able to take visitors around the scenic site. While riding on the vehicle, visitors were able to decide when to stop and go.

Tourism insiders noted that short-distance trips were preferred by visitors during the Mid-Autumn Festival holiday and that the upcoming National Day holiday will be a peak tourism time.
