The 8th Ulan Muqir Art Festival to begin in Alshaa

A press conference held in Hohhot, capital of North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region, announced that the 8th Ulan Muqir Art Festival will start on Aug 20 at the Alshaa Left Banner in Alshaa League and run until Aug 28. 

The festival is an important cultural event celebrating the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China.

This year's festival will focus on the Mongolian characteristics of the region and the artistic feats of the regions' Ulan Muqir troupes through a series of activities including performances, literary and art competitions, innovation and development seminars, photography and film exhibitions, and the 10th Alshaa Cultural Tourism Festival.

Furthermore, over 600 members of 18 Ulan Muqir art troupes from leagues and banners throughout the region will participate in performances. 

And for the first time, 24 Ulan Muqir art troupes with 900 members hailing from Gansu province, Qinghai province, Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region, Liaoning province, Jilin province, and Heilongjiang province will be invited to participate.
