Approved by the Ordos municipal government in March 2012, Ordos-Jiangsu Industrial Park (鄂尔多斯江苏工业园区) is located in the Ejin Horo Banner. For the governments of Inner Mongolia autonomous region and Jiangsu province, it is an important industrial park to implement national energy development strategies and advance the two sides' cooperation in energy and other advantageous industries.

The industrial park, based on the cooperation of Inner Mongolia and Jiangsu, has made various development breakthroughs. Inner Mongolia and Jiangsu have accelerated the establishment of a leading group to coordinate the industrial park’s construction, as well as the signing of a cooperation agreement on accelerating the industrial park's construction between the two sides. As a result, Ordos-Jiangsu Industrial Park plays a key role in deepening their cooperation.

Jiangsu Industrial Park provides preferential policies related to resource allocation, financial support, production resource supplies, project checking, file approval and talent introduction.

As a next step, the industrial park will boost development potential and utilize a unique advantage by undertaking advanced industrial transfer from the developed areas.

Ordos Jiangsu Industrial Park is one of the key parks of Inner Mongolia's economic belts along the Yellow River and the surrounding arterial traffic. It is also a special equipment manufacturing park in Inner Mongolia.

It has a planned area of over 100 sq km in the National Hohhot-Baotou-Ordos-Yulin Economic Zone and the center of the Hohhot-Baotou-Yinchuan Economic Area. The industrial park consists of two projects areas, and its promoter area has a relatively completed infrastructure and supporting facilities. The area's terrain is gentle and open with a stable geologic structure and sparse population. To date, it has already developed a three-dimensional transportation network integrating roads, railways and aviation, making the park a good choice for industry development.

Inspired by Inner Mongolia’s development thought known as "8337" as well as Jiangsu's "going out" policy, cooperation took place under the guiding principle of "driving by government, operating by market, complementary advantages and win-win cooperation".

The park aims to undertake advanced industry transfer and develop itself as a model park of cooperation. Based on the platforms jointly established by the region and province while integrating with restructure and upgrade, the park's industrial position leads by high-end equipment manufacturing (including general aviation industry) and electronic information, while complementing with new energy and materials, bio-medicine, energy conservation, environmental protection and intelligent control.

Moreover, the park has been striving to build eight industrial chains such as chemical machinery, solar photovoltaic and new energy vehicles.

The Ordos-Jiangsu Industrial Park is one of the areas with the lowest power cost. It is located in the core area of China's first hundred-million-ton coal production base, with various mines of 10-million-ton capacity surrounding the park. Meanwhile, it neighbors the world's biggest un-compartmentalized gas field, Sulige Gas Field, with coal bed methane's prospective reserve up to 4 trillion cubic meters and natural gas' annual output nearly up to 30 billion cum. Nine pipelines of the State's west-east natural gas transmission project pass by the park and its surrounding area, which promises the park vast potential in natural gas development and use.

Ordos is also a tourist attraction in China's northern border. The Ordos-Jiangsu Industrial Park is based on rich energy resources and has been devoted to low-carbon development, setting itself as a 'green' example for Ordos's sustainable development.

The park has a high-end services system for investment and business start-ups, with a complete system, streamlined procedures, high efficiency and considerate services. The enterprises and projects in the park enjoy preferential policies related to capital, preview and approval, talent and technology. They can enjoy fair and equal social security.

To date, the industrial park has attracted a total of 32 projects. Among the projects are six currently in productions and eight projects in trial production.

Total investment in the projects that have come to the park so far is 14.97 billion yuan ($2.11 billion).
