On May 5, self-driving enthusiasts from across the country embarked on a journey from Hohhot city in North China's Inner Mongolia autonomous region to Ulaanbaatar in Mongolia, for a seven-day cross-border self-driving adventure.

This event attracted off-road self-driving clubs from provinces and municipalities such as Beijing and Henan.

They would travel along the Tea Road of Ten Thousand Miles, passing through Ereenhot Port to destinations in Mongolia including Zamyn-Uud, Saynshand, and Ondorkhaan.

Along the way, travelers would immerse themselves in the grassland scenery and delve into Mongolia's unique customs and culture.

Dating back to the 17th century, the tea road first appeared when merchants from China's Shanxi province transported tea products and other goods from South China to Mongolia and Russia. After traveling more than 13,000 kilometers, the tea was then sold to countries in Europe.

Since the beginning of this year, the cross-border self-driving tour packages launched by the Inner Mongolia tourism department have garnered significant attention, especially following the introduction of the China-Mongolia-Russia cross-border tourism route, which has received widespread market approval.
