Scholars, business representatives and other representatives from China and Pakistan delivered speeches on the multibillion-dollar China-Pakistan Economic Corridor project (CPEC), a flagship venture of the Belt and Road Initiative, at the recent 2024 “Unleashing the Digital Potential of CPEC” Strategic Cooperation Summit on E-Commerce.

The summit was held in Chenggong district, Kunming, Southwest China's Yunnan province in the last week of November.

The representatives also exchanged ideas on the current status and future trends of China-Pakistan digital trade cooperation, and Yunnan province's investment environment and policies for foreign enterprises.

Inspur Software Technology Co, Kunming Jinhu International Trade Co and other Chinese enterprises signed nine agreements with Pakistani partners during the summit. These agreements, with a total value of 1.92 billion yuan ($263.78 million), cover areas such as mineral trade, agricultural and sideline products, and the digital economy.

The three-day forum featured a range of activities, including field visits to the Kunming Artificial Intelligence Computing Center, Yunnan Baiyao Group Co and Dounan Flower Market. In addition, a thematic salon pertaining to "new perspectives on e-commerce” provided a platform for networking among participants from new social strata.
