Tongzhou signs agreement with Huawei to drive digital economy
The signing ceremony for Huawei Nantong Digital Economy Collaborative Innovation Base was held at Huawei's south zone manufacturing plant in Dongguan, Guangdong province, on Nov 5.
During the event, the government of Tongzhou district in Nantong, the management committee of Nantong National High-tech Industrial Development Zone, Huawei, and Nantong Tech Industrial Development Zone Corporation signed a framework agreement. In the next five years, the base is set to become a unique hub for digital technology innovation and an industrial incubation hub for new businesses in the Yangtze River Delta region.
In recent years, the digital economy has become an important driver for green transformation, serving as the data productivity that supports the vigorous growth of new quality productive forces.
Huawei's collaboration on the innovation base is poised to inject strong momentum into developing the digital industry in Nantong. Apart from the base, the company is also focused on creating five platforms: new digital infrastructure, digital industry, integration of digital and physical realms, digital governance, and talent nurturing.
Tongzhou plans to establish the first artificial intelligence center in Nantong, which has a total computing power of 200 petaflops (Pflops). This is expected to facilitate the concentration of upstream and downstream industries and talents in the high-tech zone, promote the smart upgrade of local enterprises, and assist Nantong in becoming an innovative application benchmark city for the coordinated development of AI and data.
