Haimen district in Nantong has made significant strides in modernizing its economy and promoting high-quality regional development in 2024.

The district's industrial economy experienced steady growth last year, with total industrial sales reaching 209.57 billion yuan ($28.58 billion), a 19 percent year-on-year increase.

Zenith Steel Group (Nantong) exemplifies the industrial advancement of Haimen and is recognized as a prominent leader in the region. As the largest single-entity company in Haimen, Zenith Steel has established new standards for the modernization of traditional industries. Since its establishment, the company has focused on enhancing production, enhancing sales, facilitating intelligent transformation, advancing low-carbon technology development, and implementing strategic planning. These initiatives have propelled the growth of Zenith's green and low-carbon product offerings, increasing the company's competitiveness in the market. This year, Zenith Steel reported an impressive year-on-year sales growth of 47.87 percent.

Haimen's ongoing industrial growth is attributed to its commitment to expansion and innovation. In 2024, the district secured six major projects at the provincial level and 24 at the municipal level. The total industrial investments reached 31 billion yuan, with the initiation of 30 new industrial projects, each valued at over 500 million yuan. Additionally, Haimen launched 12 specialized and advanced projects. The district completed 34 projects and transitioned 19 of them into fully operational ventures.
