As the Chinese New Year approaches, various Spring Festival markets and lantern shows in Nantong have successively opened.

Streets and alleys are decorated with lights and decorations, exuding a joyful atmosphere, showcasing the lively and festive spirit unique to the Spring Festival.

Recently, the 10th Nantong Radio and Television Media Group Chinese New Year Market, Zilang Premium Shopping Festival, Tangzha Ancient Town Chinese New Year Market, and others have kicked off. Hundreds of booths selling meat, pickled vegetables, snacks, and desserts cover the essential Spring Festival goods.

"Wild chicken shreds" is a must-have dish on the Nantong people's dining tables during the Chinese New Year. The crispy pickled melon, paired with ingredients like shredded ginger and pork, is appetizing and satisfying.

In addition to tea, snacks, and delicious dishes, the markets also feature traditional folk performances such as Chinese cultural shows, immersive experiences in paper-cutting, and sugar figurine making.

Just as lively as the Chinese New Year markets are the Spring Festival lantern shows across the city.

The Yuyuan Lantern Festival in Rudong is full of fantasy and joy; the Hai'an Spring Festival Lantern Show vividly showcases the local characteristics of Hai'an; at the Langshan Mountain Spring Festival Lantern Show, there are traditional performances like molten iron fireworks shows and acrobatics to entertain the audience.
