Chongchuan receives record number of visitors over holiday
During the just-concluded Chinese New Year holiday, Chongchuan district in Nantong welcomed over 1.3 million visits, generating a total tourism revenue of 1.14 billion yuan ($156.48 million). This represents a 24 percent increase in visitor numbers and a 19.3 percent rise in revenue compared to last year.
Key retail and dining businesses in the district, including 27 monitored enterprises, reported sales of 402 million yuan, with a foot traffic of 2.43 million. Additionally, six major shopping malls achieved a sales figure of 243 million yuan and received 2.19 million visits.
The district's 27 operating cinemas also set new records, generating 20.55 million yuan in revenue and attracting 460,700 moviegoers. The figures mark significant year-on-year increases of 43 percent and 35.9 percent, respectively.
