Chongchuan Economic Development Zone in Nantong, East China's Jiangsu province, has made remarkable achievements in its high-quality development.

Specifically, the zone recorded 13.05 billion yuan ($1.88 billion) in fixed assets investment last year. Its imports and exports were valued at 17.5 billion yuan, while its actual use of foreign capital totaled $150 million in 2022.

The zone secured a 70-million-euro ($75.18 million) project to establish a smart high-end equipment facility on Feb 6 and a $150-million automotive electronics project on Feb 4, which will be key to promoting its high-quality development.

Authorities also implemented a series of measures, including providing subsidies, to accelerate digital transformation and intelligent upgrading, with one enterprise listed among provincial intelligent factories and eight companies recognized as little giants in 2022.

In addition, authorities have been exploring new means to improve people's wellbeing as part of efforts to advance high-quality development.

They built a grape plantation in 2012 that provides jobs to 102 people with disabilities, with people being able to make an annual income of no less than 25,000 yuan each.
