Nantong authorities and businesses demonstrated the city's industrial strengths and deepened economic and trade cooperation with the Middle East at the China-UE Trade and Capital Market Forum, which was held in Dubai on Feb 27.
This forum aims to implement the outcomes of the first China-Arab States Summit and the 10th Ministerial Conference of the China-Arab States Cooperation Forum and to promote practical cooperation between the business communities of the two regions.
The Nantong municipal bureau of commerce inked a strategic cooperation framework agreement with the Middle East International Exhibition, marking a new milestone in economic and trade cooperation between Nantong and the Middle East region.
According to the agreement, both parties will jointly establish a liaison platform and channel to serve enterprises from both places, providing comprehensive services for Nantong companies to "go global" and attract foreign investment.
"This signing will effectively promote deep cooperation between Nantong and the Middle East region in areas such as two-way investment and trade," said Yuan Jie from the municipal bureau of commerce.
He also stated that they will take this signing as an opportunity to fully leverage Nantong's industrial advantages in areas such as household textiles, fiber optics, and construction engineering, actively explore the Middle East market, and inject new impetus into Nantong's higher-level opening-up to the outside world.
