Nantong residents impressed by government work report

Premier Li Qiang delivered the annual Government Work Report on March 5 at the opening meeting of the third session of the 14th National People's Congress in Beijing.

Residents of Nantong, Jiangsu province, closely followed the opening meeting, where the report's emphasis on developmental achievements and concrete measures resonated deeply, inspiring both confidence and a sense of optimism.

Chen Li, head of the Secretariat of the Nantong Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee Office, said that Premier Li Qiang's report provided a comprehensive overview and summary of the past year's work while outlining a clear roadmap for future development. It showcased the grand strength and unwavering confidence in China's progress.

Song Chenming, president of Nantong Bajian Group, underscored the company's commitment to balancing progress with stability. As a leading construction enterprise, Bajian remains dedicated to innovation and sustainable development, striving to inject fresh dynamism and insight into the city's economic and social advancement.

Chen Kaiwen, an official from Sanxing town in Haimen district, stated that the issues mentioned in the government report, such as ensuring people's livelihoods and rural revitalization, are central to grassroots work. As a grassroots agricultural technical expert, she expressed her commitment to actively engaging with the local community, ensuring that policy benefits reach every household.

Shi Weidong, a villager from Zhangzhishan town, expressed appreciation for the government's commendable efforts in providing care and joy to older adults. Following retirement, he dedicates two hours daily to playing table tennis for fitness. He plans to acquire licenses for a ride-hailing service and tour guiding next year to explore the country's scenic landscapes.
