The PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal at Yangkou Port in Rudong county in East China's Jiangsu province received a total of 86 LNG ships in 2025, the last being LNG vessel LIJMILIYA, which departed from the terminal after completing its unloading operations on Dec 30.
The unloading volume exceeded 7.5 million metric tons, while the annual total external supply surpassed 10.5 billion cubic meters — a record high on both counts.
LIJMILIYA was the 826th LNG vessel to dock at the terminal since its opening on May 24, 2011. To date, the terminal has received around 69.5 million tons of LNG from 27 countries and regions, enough to meet the annual gas needs of 410 million households. At full capacity, the terminal can handle nearly 30 percent of the natural gas supply in Jiangsu, providing continuous green energy for the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta.
Yangkou Port's Sunshine Island currently hosts three major energy infrastructure projects: the PetroChina Jiangsu LNG Terminal, the GCL Huidong LNG Terminal, and the Guoxin LNG Terminal. Once all four planned terminals are completed, the island's total unloading capacity is projected to reach 26 million tons.
This record-breaking unloading not only reflects Yangkou Port's strategic role in national energy security but also highlights its commitment to becoming an "Energy Island and Industrial Port".
